HNSS irrigates Rayalseema’s drought-prone lands for seventh consecutive year



Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) project is the largest multipurpose lift irrigation project in India. It covers the four districts of Andhra Pradesh: Kurnool, Ananthapur, Chittoor and Cuddapa. After being completed in two phases, it will flow from the project to a distance of 565 km irrigating 6 lac acres of land in the four districts of Rayalaseema in AP. The pumps lift lifting 40 TMC of water to irrigate 6 lac acres of land and bring drinking water to 33 lakh people.
